An update on Birdathon 2008 from Tim Knott
We are doing well with Birdathon
2008, although we are behind our donation totals compared
to last year. Almost 300 Wachiska members, friends and supporters
have contributed as of the middle of June. This cmpares to
over 400 donars at this time last year.
It is the desire of Wachiska's
Board to have a highly successful Birdathone this year in
celebration fot he chapter's 35th anniversary. Let's hope
that dream can come true. Extra special programs, field trips
and special events have been carefully plannned and are being
carried out throughout the year. Please make a point to join
us in support of these events.
Your
gift is crucial to our continued success.
Please help us
in one of two ways:
A. Contribute a flat donation toward our
Birdathon 2008 goal. Consider $35 during our 35th anniversary
or more if you are able.
B. Pledge 35 cents, or $3.50, or more for
each bird species Wachiska birders identify on Birdathon
Weekend, May 10 and 11. Our average count over the years
has been about 175 species. We will notify you of your pledged
total after the Birdathon is completed.
